Studies show that children involved in the performing arts tend to achieve better academic results. Beyond academics, participating in the arts—at any age—helps build self-esteem and confidence, essential tools for facing life’s challenges. Whether pursuing a career in the arts or simply enjoying it as a hobby, the skills gained can be applied throughout life.
At VIBE Performing Arts, our instructors are committed to creating a warm and supportive environment, especially as we continue learning from home. Setbacks are a natural part of growth, but how students learn to overcome them makes all the difference. After all, setbacks are simply setups for comebacks!
Self-esteem and confidence serve as passports to mental well-being and social success. The way we feel about ourselves directly influences how we act. With proper training, students not only develop a love for the arts but also gain the confidence to excel in job interviews, public speaking, and other important life situations.
In my group singing classes, after a student performs, I encourage positive feedback from the class. While constructive criticism is essential for growth, many focus solely on what needs improvement rather than recognizing strengths. A valuable exercise is to record a performance and, instead of picking apart mistakes, intentionally look for positive aspects. While this may seem challenging at first, it fosters encouragement— especially for beginners. When self-esteem is nurtured, confidence grows, and overall improvement naturally follows.
Why not invest in these valuable life skills for yourself or your child? A successful education relies on collaboration between teachers, students, and parents. At VIBE Performing Arts, we are dedicated to helping students develop the excitement, discipline, and passion needed to succeed—not just on stage, but in life.
